One manga, two anime (originally released 2003 and remade in 2009), three movies, at least two video games, and another who-knows-what that may never reach North America. While there are so many properties it's tiring, it's probably the only big-name anime franchise I would recommend. But if you didn't grow up with it like me, or otherwise don't know where to start, there is a simple question with a complicated answer: Where do you even start?

What I’m Watching As I’m Packing
I am leaving for New Zealand soon. This means that I have to finish the knitted blanket I started for my parents last November (I am almost done though!). Since I am mostly packed and only working intensely in the mornings and early afternoons, I am spending a lot of time sitting in front of… Continue reading What I’m Watching As I’m Packing
Spotlight: Hiromu Arakawa
The first time someone described the plot of Fullmetal Alchemist to me, I was skeptical that I would enjoy it. A couple months later, I finally saw an episode on Cartoon Network's Toonami block and fell in love. It does… Continue reading The 3 Subversions of Psycho Pass

Impressions: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Aldnoah.Zero
I started a few shows this week, but before I finish them, allow me to give you my initial impressions for the sake of content. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt I watched the first four episodes and the entire time I felt "meh." The characters besides Kimmy did not have the depth of character to break free… Continue reading Impressions: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Aldnoah.Zero
